Mobile Bookkeeping Services have been providing personalised bookkeeping in wider Wellington area since 1993. The principal Jenny Taylor is a Xero Certified Advisor but has used and evaluated a variety of software over the years.

If you already have your own software we are happy to work with you. If you are looking to upgrade or are just starting out, we understand choosing the right software can be daunting. Mobile Bookkeeping has the experience to give you the right advice.


Step 1. An initial consultation to discuss your Bookkeeping requirements and the type of reporting you require. Today many small businesses work long hours and this means they have little time to do their own accounts. It makes sense to employ a Bookkeeper who can handle all of your day-to-day Bookkeeping needs, freeing up your time to work on your business or enjoy some leisure time.

Step 2. . Sign an agreement giving Xero permission to capture Bank Statement, Credit Cards, and PayPal transactions and send them electronically to us. It is totally secure and they do not have access to your information. It usually takes around 10 days before we start receiving your bank feeds automatically. During this time we set up your system or convert your old system.

Step 3. When your data arrives into our system it is then coded to your general ledger and your bank accounts are reconciled. A set of reports are then produced, according to your instructions, showing the performance of your business. Some of our standard reports are: GST Return, Profit and Loss, Cashflow and General Ledger. We also handle Wages and PAYE for some of our clients.
Xero gives you a real-time view of your Cashflow. You can log in anytime, from anywhere on a Mac, PC, Tablet or Phone to see your up-to-date financials.

At the beginning of each month we will contact you by phone, text, or email asking for information on any transactions we have been unable to code to your General Ledger. Once we receive this information we can then produce your set of reports for the previous month, giving you an idea how your business has performed. We always produce a General Ledger for you to look at and check, as well as a Profit and Loss Report. Depending on your GST dates, we will produce either a 2 monthly GST return for you or 6th Monthly. We are happy to set up a Profit and Loss Report showing your budgeted figures, if you would like.


At year end we will contact your Accountant by email to let them know that we have completed your Bookkeeping transactions for the year They can then go into Xero and start working on your end of year Accounts. It is that simple. We will produce a set of reports for the past twelve months, and publish them in Xero for your Accountants to access, and for you to print and keep a copy for yourself.


Before we used Mobile Bookkeeping we had a time consuming and expensive manual system. We had to send paperwork to the Accountants. Now using Xero everything is streamlined. I can log in online from anywhere at any time. from my IPhone,Tablet or PC to see up-to-date financials. We get regular easy to understand reports and GST Returns are effortless and accurate. My name is Jennifer Taylor and I have been operating Mobile Bookkeeping since April 1993.

I am a small company, with values based on trust and reliability. I believe in being there for my customers 24/7 because I realise in this day and age not everyone works a 9-5 job.

I relieve the owners of small and medium sized businesses of the time consuming grind of their day to day Bookkeeping needs, as well as GST, PAYE, Bank Reconciliations, and reporting.

Originally when I started MBK, I visited clients onsite to attend to their bookkeeping needs. Today however, the Internet allows me to work from anywhere at anytime. Our client's are only a phone call away and the programmes I us allow, me to complete their work and produce their reports quicker and more efficiently.

Attending to my client's needs and taking the pressure off them, means that clients can get on with doing what they do best running their day to day business. If they want to see how their business is going, they can log to their site at anytime to see a snapshot.


Mobile Bookkeeping is based in Levin and is available for onsite visits in the greater Wellington area. However our software allows us to work for our clients anywhere at anytime.
